I have wanted to make design for my bike's empty place by fiber glass. This is a case where digital capture is more expensive than hand capture of the size data.Īctually process of my project was like this: I think Claas has the best suggestion, aside from actually just measuring the bike by hand. I don't know if Inventor can convert mesh to solid. Fusion blocks models like this from conversion because there is too much information to create a usable brep surface. You can try that if you want, but your model that I downloaded has serious problems for this workflow, there are far too many triangles in the model. In the Sculpt workspace tools there is a tool called Convert that converts mesh to brep solids/surfaces. The progressive images show it in various surface/mesh formats. Because of this it forms a watertight surface and can be converted to solid. The image of the toy you show is not a scan, it is from a model. Regarding your question, can you convert to solid from STL/OBJ: Yes and no. The measurement tool you see in my image is measuring the scan of your bike immediately after inserting it into the Sculpt workspace. If you have any suggestion please let me know or otherwise i wil feel like stupid cause i paid for premium account. is there anyway to measurement for my bike or that kind of programs are only for hobby cause even i cant find any industrial example like i tried to do. step file by buying premium account on 123D Design it doesnt matter i cant get any measurment by Autodesk way, or i couldnt. i tried to convert it program to program' file to file even checked. ok i had almost same shape of my bike ( not perfectly almost good) but i cant do nothing after Catch. and then i took my pictures, tried 123d catch but result was fail. i thought it can be good idea to use 123d catch for catching required measurements. So i wanted o use 123D catch to obtain measurements cause i built it by my manual skills i mean i dont have any measure about my bike structure. I wanted to cover this empty place coloured as yellow' by fiberglass. i built all structure of bike as u can see on picture.
